What is jumping stilts?
jumping stilts are spring-loaded boots, it¡¯s like a cross between stilts and a pogo-stick. The stilt basically consists of two parts. An aluminum frame that you attach to your shoes with snowboard bindings and around your knee¡¯s with a strap. Second part is a flat and bent glass fiber spring. The construction is made very light but it can still take a bit of time to get used to the extra weight.
What can you do with jumping stilts?
Just to walk on them is the first challenge, this normally takes about 5 to 15 minutes to learn. After overcoming this first challenge you can go on to learning to jump, stride and run. With a bit of training you can jump 2 meter in the air, take 9 foot strides, run 20mph and why not do a back flip while your at it.
Who can use jumping stilts?
Anyone can do it, it¡¯s easy!!
There are jumping stilts models for children weighing 30kg all the way to adults weighing over 100kg. The youngest user I know of using jumping stiltss is six years old and the oldest person is 53 years old.
Why use it?
Main reason is that it¡¯s fun.
There are also a lot of tricks to do so you will always have something new to learn. A lot of people also like the attraction that powerising attracts. Be prepared to answer a lot of questions from people passing by if you jump in public places.
This is also a great way of training its hard work but also it's so much fun at the same time so you wont even notices how tired you are. You work both cardiovascular and muscular, the biggest muscle groups are the quads and the seat muscle. They do the heavy work of gaining height and speed. Muscles also very important it the deep muscles in the stomach and the lower back. If you try to keep a good posture as you jump you will strengthen this muscles and get a better posture and a flat stomach as a bonus.Don't forget to stretch after every time you have been using them, quads, seat muscles, hip flexors, upper and lower back. |
